House of Representatives is expected to officially register its disapproval of U.S. involvement in the NATO-led Libya campaign

fighting in libya

The House of Representatives is expected to officially register its disapproval of U.S. involvement in the -led Libya campaign Friday, voting to restrict funding for America’s role in the mission.

The Republican-sponsored bill, which would effectively prohibit U.S. offensive operations such as drone strikes, is seen as a sharp rebuke of Barack ’s policy in the war-torn North African country.

It would limit the U.S. role to non-hostile actions such as search and rescue, aerial refueling, operational planning, intelligence gathering, and reconnaissance.

The bill is considered to have little chance of clearing the Democratic-controlled Senate.

If you’re looking for a company that funds the far right, AT&T has you covered.

AT&T, one of the largest corporate political contributors in America, has contributed to extremists like Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who championed a state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, and Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who has called for the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions.

And Verizon Wireless? They’ve given to politicians like Rep. Tom Price of Georgia, who earned a 0% rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America. And since 2002 they’ve contributed to the Blue Dog Democrats, whose opposition helped weaken health care reform and kill the public option.

But there is a different kind of mobile phone company. One that works for your values, not against them: CREDO Mobile.

With CREDO Mobile, you’ll get a phone company that shares your values. You’ll get no contract for 30 days** – and we will:*

  • buy out your contract – up to $200
  • let you keep your number – no hassles
  • give you 10% off your monthly fee for 24 months
  • provide great, nationwide coverage on the all-digital Sprint® network, reaching more than 280 million people.†

With CREDO Mobile you’ll also get one feature you won’t find anywhere else: automatic donations to progressive causes. That’s because we automatically donate a portion of your monthly charges to nonprofit groups. Since 1985 CREDO members have raised over $65 million for groups like AlterNet, Earthjustice, Planned Parenthood and Doctors Without Borders.

So take a look at your last phone bill, and think about where your money is going. Then think about CREDO Mobile.

Wendy F. “I’ve had a great experience in my two years with CREDO. When I call, they make time for my needs and questions, no matter how inane or complicated. They really invest in long-term relationships with customers, which I appreciate. I also like knowing part of my bill goes directly to the things I love supporting. Besides my talking habit, I mean…”
